Abstract

A study of possible additional time costs during the transportation of goods by rail has been conducted. The importance of determining the distribution density function, which is used to determine the probabilities of various downtime scenarios, has been proven, allowing for more accurate modeling of probable distributions of time parameters and transmitting the risks of delays at border crossings. Risks and probable scenarios have been predicted using the distribution density function. Factors influencing waiting times and downtime for rail transport have been analyzed. The importance of organizing a cargo delivery system in multimodal transportation from departure to destination has been proven.
