Тенденції та перспективи розвитку безготівкових платежів в Україні

Abstract

UA: У статті досліджено ключові тенденції та перспективи розвитку безготівкових платежів в Україні в умовах цифровізації фінансового сектору. Досліджено структуру платіжних операцій. Проаналізовано динаміку безготівкових операцій під впливом війни і пандемії, співвідношення готівкових і безготівкових розрахунків, вплив обсягів електронних платежів на ВВП та рівень тінізації економіки. Встановлено, що частка безготівкових операцій суттєво зросла, а зниження співвідношення М0 до ВВП підтверджує підвищення прозорості фінансових потоків. Визначено основні чинники розвитку cashless-економіки та окреслено виклики, пов’язані з інфраструктурними обмеженнями, рівнем фінансової грамотності та кіберризиками. Запропоновано напрями вдосконалення системи безготівкових розрахунків і рекомендації для підвищення ефективності фінансової трансформації України.

EN: The article explores the key trends and development prospects of cashless payments in Ukraine in the context of accelerating digital transformation of the financial sector. Emphasis is placed on the increasing role of electronic payment instruments in improving economic efficiency, expanding financial inclusion, reducing cash-related costs, and limiting the scale of informal financial activity. The study examines the dynamics of cashless transactions, the shift in the balance between cash and non-cash operations, and the relationship between changes in the most liquid components of the money supply and GDP growth. The results demonstrate a significant long-term increase in the share of non-cash payments driven by the expansion of online banking, mobile applications, contactless payment technologies, and the growing trust of households and businesses in digital financial services. A strong correlation between the growth of non-cash money and macroeconomic indicators confirms the positive impact of payment digitalization on national economic performance. At the same time, the article identifies several challenges that hinder the development of a fully cashless environment: insufficient payment infrastructure, limited digital accessibility in certain regions, low financial literacy, and rising cybersecurity threats. Particular attention is given to the influence of crisis factors, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and wartime disruptions, which temporarily increased the demand for cash but did not reverse the overall upward trend in digital payments. The study outlines the main prerequisites for strengthening Ukraine’s cashless ecosystem, including regulatory modernization, improved banking services, development of payment innovations, and formation of a digital-oriented financial culture. The findings highlight that further advancement of cashless payments is essential for enhancing transparency, reducing the shadow economy, and supporting sustainable economic growth, thereby promoting deeper integration of Ukraine into the global digital economy.
