Background of use of integral indicators of assessment of efficiency of work of railway

Abstract

Evaluation of the effectiveness of the railway is carried out in several ways, which do not always reflect the objective situation. This is manifested during periods of economic crisis. On the one hand, railway enterprises operate normally - they perform maintenance of infrastructure devices, wagons and locomotives, regardless of the volume of traffic. On the other hand, there is a decrease in the volume of transportation of goods and passengers. At the same time, the quality of freight and passenger transportation is not taken into account. There are indicators to assess the volume and quality of transportation of goods and passengers.
