Abstract: Currently, there is a steady increase in operating costs for maintaining the existing fleet of locomotives [1]. In order to increase the reliability of the operation of locomotives, it is necessary to have reliable information about the technical condition of their individual components. Statistical data on the reliability of the traction rolling stock equipment show that a large share of failures falls on traction motors, and it increases with the increase in the service life.
